Eco-conscious designers look to creative alternatives when domestic sourcing is tough

Designers can use a a variety of easily accessible synthetic fabrics, such as acrylic, nylon, polyester, latex, and rayon. But the productions of these fabrics are energy intensive. They rely on reserves of oil and gas for creation and they are not biodegradable.
