If you fight for your country, you can fight for your education.

Everyone deserves an education, even America's troops who have come home after serving in Iraq and/or Afghanistan.

When Joe Bykowski returned home, he turned to education as a way to adapt back to life in the United States. He turned to a program at UMass Boston called Veterans' Upward Bound which prepares troops for re-entry or entry into college. One option for education is the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill which entitles returning troops to have their tuition and fees covered as well as a monthly living stipend.

Bykowski hopes going to school will teach other troops returning home that you don't have to be alone. He says going to school and getting an education is a way to combat feeling isolated and alone.

Check out this video story on Bykowski's educational journey.
