Chinese food recipes

Ingredients: 
2 Beef shank 
2.5 pounds of tomatoes 
2 carrots 
Bok choy
1 onion 
3 slice of ginger 
1 scallion 
1 chili 
2 cloves garlic 
3-5 star anise 
1 teaspoon oil 
1 teaspoon sugar 
1 tablespoon Taiwanese cooking wine 5 tablespoons soy sauce 

Directions: 
1. Mince onion, scallion, and chili. Cut tomatoes and carrots into pieces 
2. Cut beef shanks into 3 cm pieces 
3. Put oil in a pan and stir-fry onion, ginger, chili, garlic, star anise, carrots and tomatoes until onion turns brown 
4. Put all ingredients above into a big pot 
5. Add soy sauce, cooking wine and beef shank in the pot 
6. Simmer 2 hours and stir once a while 
7. Boil water in another pot, and put noodles and Bok coy in it. Cook until done and drain them. 
8. Place noodles and bok choy in a bowl, pour soup and beef in it. Add scallion over the finished dish. 
Tip: Don't add water because tomatoes will release water while cooking them.

Spare ribs with gourd soup

Ingredients: 
1 gourd 
1 pound spare ribs 
4 pieces ginger 
Some salt 

Directions: 
1. Boil a large pot of water (enough water to cover ribs). Add ribs to the pot and boil for 5 minutes and drain them. 
2. Peel gourd, take out all seeds and cut into pieces the same size as ribs 
3. Put ribs and gourd into another pot and cook for a half hour with median heat 
4. Add modest salt ______________________________________________________________________ 

Steam Bass with scallion and ginger

Ingredients: 
1 Bass 
6 scallions 
1 ginger rot 
1 tablespoon Taiwanese cooking wine 
1 tablespoon oyster sauce 

 Directions: 
1. Shred scallion and ginger 
2. Wash fish and wipe down water on fish, and make 
3 shallow slices to help cook fish faster 
4. Put scallion and ginger under and over the fish, and put fish on a plate 
5. Add cooking wine and put it in a steam pot for 20 minutes 
5. Add oyster sauce over the finished dish
