The state of the economy and the job market is causing more anxiety among workers than ever. Now, two young people share their struggles as they find a new career path during these tough times.
Tierney Moll is a senior at Boston University. Her first memory of feeling anxious was when she was four years old. She tried meditation and medication, but her anxiety persisted. Now, as she prepares to graduate from college, she faces entering a job market as tough as any in recent history. The thought alone causes her anxiety to elevate. This is part of her story.
Mike Farrell grew up in Atlanta, Ga., going to Catholic school and then Clemson University. After graduation he joined the family business of insurance sales, moving to Denver to pursue his career. It didn't take long though, for Farrell to realize the family business wasn't the life he wanted. He quit his job and moved across the country, struggling to find a new life. This is part of his story.
In March 2009, MSNBC reported that 1 in 5 workers said they experienced anxiety over the state of the economy and their jobs. Moll and Farrell are two members of this growing community of people, struggling to find their place in the turbulent world of the recession.
